Arrival to Campus – Spring 2021

As we prepare to return to campus in Spring 2021, we want to provide important updates regarding travel guidelines and your arrival to campus.  Members of Cav Nation are advised to delay travel and your arrival to campus  if you are sick with symptoms of COVID-19, have tested positive for COVID-19, have been in close contact with someone who tested positive, or are awaiting the results of a viral test. 

Ohio and Out of State Arrivals

Faculty, Staff and students arriving from states reporting positive testing rates of 15% or more are directed to quarantine at home 14-days prior to arrival to campus. During this time, eliminate any high risk behaviors that may lead to exposure to the virus.  We ask that all members of Cav Nation continue to follow the Governor’s Stay Safe Ohio Protocol over the break to ensure the health and safety of those around you as well as the safety of our campus when you return.

International Student Arrival

Students arriving to campus following international travel are directed to comply with the following university guidelines

  • Quarantine at home 14 days prior to your travel departure date.  During this time, eliminate any high risk behaviors that may lead to exposure to the virus. 
  • During travel, take extra precautions and Know How to Protect Yourself and Others
  • Upon arrival, students will need to be tested within 3-5 days of your arrival and remain quarantined until you receive a negative test result and have been cleared by the university to engage in academic and extracurricular activities.

*Please note, Walsh will make testing available to our international students who are returning to campus following international travel.

Resident Student Check-in

Resident students will be permitted to begin arriving to campus on Saturday, January 9th and Sunday January 10th.  For more information about the check-in process, CLICK HERE.

University Travel Guidelines

Business Travel
Domestic business travel needs approval from the supervising Vice-President and International travel is prohibited through 31 May.

Personal Travel
With the travel advisory announced by Governor DeWine, please let your supervisor know if you have plans to travel outside of the state of Ohio so we can adjust for a potentially extended absence. The following states are included in this TRAVEL ADVISORY.

  1. With the risks associated, for any employee traveling to these states, the University requires a 10-day quarantine from campus in alignment with Ohio’s recommendation.
  2. During this 10-day quarantine, employees will have the opportunity to utilize vacation time or unpaid time.
  3. Supervisor coordination is required due to the extended absence from the workplace to ensure mission impact is not jeopardized.
