Earn your bachelor's degree and Juris Doctorate in 5 years!
You can make your time in class add up with the 3+2 program through Walsh University and the University of Dayton (UD). Through the program, students can obtain a bachelor's degree in Legal Studies from Walsh University and a juris doctorate (JD) from the University of Dayton in just five years, rather than the usual seven years it typically takes to complete both degrees.
About the 3+2 Program
- Students complete three years of undergraduate coursework at Walsh University, choosing from legal studies tracks in business, sociology or humanities.
- In their fourth year, students enter the University of Dayton School of Law and begin working toward their JD.
- Upon completion of their first year at UD, credits will transfer back to Walsh where students will obtain their bachelor's degree.
- Students will then have one year left to complete their JD at University of Dayton.
PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants may apply for the 3+2 Program at the same time they apply for admission to Walsh University.
- Eligible students must have a minimum 3.50 GPA in high school and 25 ACT, or 1150 SAT.
- Students will be assured of admission to law school if they satisfy the following three conditions:
1. An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0
2. Responses to the Character and Fitness questions on the law school application that are satisfactory to the law school’s Admissions Committee
3. An LSAT score one point above the median for the UD School of Law class for the year of their conditional admission.
4. Are in good standing academically, financially, and from a disciplinary perspective, and have no criminal arrests or convictions since the time of their conditional admission.
