Nursing Program Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements:

  • Receive a cumulative high school GPA of a 3.0 or higher
  • Receive an ACT composite score of a 20 or a combined SAT sub score of a 1030 (Critical Reading and Math)
  • Graduate from an accredited high school or home school

Pre-Nursing Requirements:

  • Students who do not meet the above criteria, but are accepted into Walsh University, are placed within our Pre-Nursing Program
  • Pre-Nursing students who do plan on enrolling at Walsh, will need to complete our Pre-Nursing Chemistry Placement Exam before attending one of our Summer Cavalier Connection Orientations

All students who are admitted to Walsh must maintain a 2.75 GPA within the following classes in order to progress to the sophomore year status within the Nursing Program:

  • CHEM 120 Fundamentals of Clinical Chemistry
  • BIO 209 Anatomy and Physiology 1
  • BIO 209 Anatomy and Physiology 1 Lab
  • BIO 210 Anatomy and Physiology 2
  • BIO 210 Anatomy and Physiology 2 Lab
  • NURS 220 Theoretical Concepts for Nursing

In order to progress throughout the Nursing Program, students must receive a C (77%) or better in each class within their Nursing coursework

At this time, this program is only approved in Ohio but can pursue approval in an alternative state. Please consult with your program director if you intend to complete this program and apply for licensure outside of Ohio. At that time, the program director will consult the licensing board in an alternative state to confirm requirements.
