Spanish for Healthcare Minor

There’s no question that bi-lingual healthcare providers are in demand. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, having a health care provider who speaks the same language as the patient results in greater patient understanding, leading to increased satisfaction, better medication adherence, greater understanding of diagnoses and treatment, greater well-being and better functioning for persons with chronic disease, and more health education.

Key Benefits

As the Hispanic population grows exponentially across the U.S., the need for Spanish speaking healthcare providers is growing as well. Bi-lingual healthcare providers generally receive higher salaries, more opportunities for advancement, and better treatment outcomes.
